The Carriage House- Chic Treetop Loft & Hotub

Overall, this was a great little home base to explore the areas of Grass Valley and Nevada City. It was perfect walking distance to pretty much everything in downtown Grass Valley, including shops and restaurants. The area seemed safe, clean, and the neighbors were friendly with us. We loved how the Treetop Loft included a kitchen, laundry, and beyond. That seems perfect for people that like to be outdoors or if you wanted to cook to save some money. Pros: Great location, fair price, accomodation has everything you need, communicative host, friendly neighbors, laundry. The AC worked great and kept us cool. Cons: Pretty rough accomodation/area for our dogs. The stairs up to the final loft are very steep and pretty noisy to go up and down. We had to carry our dogs. While the multi-level nature of the Loft is pretty fun, it also gets old. That's not on the host, that's on us though. The area is also very hilly and there are very few places to take our dogs potty. Almost no one has a lawn in the area. So much for grass in Grass Valley! The bed was also really too soft and lumpy, at least for us. Lastly, while the AC & fan worked great, they were really noisy. Still, we had a great time and would definitely come back. Grass Valley really exceeded our expectations.

This is a cute spot for people who don’t mind stairs or tiny ladders up to their sleep space. Also no tv in the home. The initial room you come into is a washer/dryer basement with a pseudo lounge area. The main floor has the kitchen/ living area and bathroom. Very steep stairs/ladder to the final level which was nice with lots of ventilation options. It was clean, well outfitted in the kitchen and toiletries, and overall a nice space.

This tiny home was so cute! Our two kids slept on the air mattress downstairs, and my husband and I had plenty of space in the loft. The bed was comfortable. The stairs to the loft are very steep, so would not be a good choice if you have limited mobility on stairs. The small kitchen had everything we needed. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and a short walk to the downtown, which was full of cute shops and restaurants. This was a great home base for exploring Gold Country. We really enjoyed Empire Mine State Historic Park, which was only a few minutes away.

Very charming spot, perfect for two. The carriage house has everything you need for a long weekend in town. Easy to make a meal in the cozy kitchen or walk five minutes to dining in the heart of GV. The house is tall and narrow so you must be cool with stairs. Check in was easy and the heat kept us nice and warm in the mid and upper floors. Dedicated parking was great.
